About Nigel North:

Nigel North is Professor of Lute at the Early Music Institute of Indiana University, and a former faculty member of the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London and the Berlin Musik Hochschule in Germany. As a lutenist, he worked with many of the world's leading baroque ensembles and was a founding member of the ensemble Romanesca.  Mr.  North has recorded the complete lute works of English Renaissance composer John Dowland as well as transcribed Bach’s cello suites and solo violin works for the lute. He is the author of Continuo Playing on the Lute, Archlute, and Theorbo.
